A successful primary school in Croydon is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join its welcoming team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate primary teacher to deliver creative lessons, support pupils through an important stage of their education and help establish strong foundations for future learning.

About the Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, delivering an engaging curriculum that supports pupils as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1. You will create a structured and nurturing classroom where children can develop their literacy, numeracy, independence and confidence.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 1 curriculum.

• Developing pupils' early reading, writing and mathematical skills.

• Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom.

• Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.

• Supporting pupils with different abilities and learning requirements.

• Establishing clear routines and promoting positive behaviour.

• Building strong relationships with parents, carers and colleagues.

• Contributing to the wider life of the school.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Primary teaching experience, ideally within Key Stage 1.

• Good knowledge of the Year 1 curriculum and early learning development.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• A creative, patient and child-centred approach to teaching.

• Commitment to inclusive learning and pupil progress.

• A reliable, organised and enthusiastic attitude.
