Our client is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join a secondary school in Cambridge. This vacancy offers an opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Mathematics and understands the importance of developing students' confidence, logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students build strong foundations before progressing towards more demanding mathematical concepts and GCSE examinations. Responsibilities of the Mathematics Teacher:
Teach Mathematics across KS3 and KS4 in accordance with the school's curriculum.
Plan and deliver lessons that develop mathematical fluency, reasoning and problem-solving.
Explain concepts clearly and use worked examples, questioning and guided practice to check understanding.
Prepare students for GCSE assessments through examination-style questions, revision activities and targeted feedback.
Adapt lessons to support different abilities, including students who need additional help and those requiring greater challenge.
Use formative assessment and student performance information to identify gaps in knowledge.
Set appropriate independent work and homework to consolidate learning and encourage effective study habits.
Maintain a purposeful classroom environment through consistent routines and positive behaviour management.
Build positive relationships with students and encourage resilience when tackling challenging problems.
Collaborate with departmental colleagues to review schemes of work, share resources and improve teaching practice.
Communicate relevant progress information and contribute to discussions about student attainment and support.
Promote high expectations, inclusion and positive attitudes towards Mathematics.
Experience and Qualifications:
A qualified Mathematics Teacher with the ability to teach KS3 and KS4.
QTS, a PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching a range of mathematical topics.
The ability to deliver clear explanations and adapt lessons to meet different learning needs.
Experience using assessment and feedback to support student progress.
Effective classroom management and strong communication skills.
A collaborative approach to planning and departmental development.
A commitment to safeguarding and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
The legal right to work in the UK.
