Role Overview

An ambitious primary school in Hillingdon is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and nurturing Year 2 Teacher to join their Key Stage 1 team ASAP. In this pivotal role, you will lead a dynamic Year 2 class, creating a well-structured and encouraging learning environment designed to guide pupils through Key Stage 1 statutory assessments (SATs) and build confidence for their transition into Key Stage 2. You will deliver an engaging, balanced curriculum that fosters strong core skills in literacy, reading, and mathematics. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, differentiated lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum framework.

• Prepare pupils for Key Stage 1 statutory assessments and moderation, tracking academic growth in reading, writing, and mathematics.

• Establish a supportive, inclusive classroom environment where high expectations and positive behaviour management are prioritized.

• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, Key Stage 1 colleagues, and the SENCO to deliver targeted support for pupils with SEND or EAL needs.

• Maintain open, encouraging communication with parents and carers to build strong home-school partnerships.

Key Requirements

• Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

• Proven teaching experience or strong placement record within Key Stage 1, with a solid grasp of the Year 2 curriculum and assessment expectations.

• Strong working knowledge of early literacy teaching and accredited phonics schemes (e.g., Read Write Inc., Little Wandle, or Sounds-Write).

• Excellent classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.

• Legal right to work in the UK.
