Join a Successful Nottingham Primary School as School Business Manager

🕐 Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm
💷 Salary: £40,000–£46,000 per annum
A successful primary school in Nottingham is looking for an organised and experienced School Business Manager to oversee the financial, administrative and operational side of the school.
You will work closely with the Headteacher, Governors and staff to make sure the school has strong financial controls, effective systems and well-managed resources.
⚠️ Previous School Experience Essential
Previous experience working within a school or academy environment is essential. The successful candidate will ideally have experience across finance, HR, premises and general school operations.
Your Responsibilities
Manage the school's budget and day-to-day financial processes
Monitor expenditure and provide regular financial reports
Support Governors with financial planning and reporting
Oversee HR administration, payroll and staff records
Manage contracts, purchasing and supplier relationships
Coordinate premises and facilities matters
Monitor health & safety and statutory compliance
Support recruitment and staff onboarding
Maintain school systems, records and documentation
Provide guidance and support to the administrative team
About You
You will be practical, reliable and confident managing several areas of school business simultaneously. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with senior leaders, staff, Governors and external suppliers.
Experience using school MIS and finance systems, alongside good Excel skills, would be highly desirable.
