Lead Finance, HR and Operations at a High-Performing Leeds School

🕐 Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm
💷 Salary: £47,000–£54,000 per annum
An established high-performing secondary school in Leeds is seeking an experienced School Business Manager to lead the business and operational functions of the school.
Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring the school's finances, staffing, premises and administrative systems are well managed.
⚠️ Previous School Business Management Experience Essential
You should have previous experience in a school or education setting and be confident managing financial processes, HR administration, procurement and operational compliance.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Leading annual budgeting and ongoing financial monitoring
Managing purchasing, procurement and supplier contracts
Supporting payroll, HR and staffing processes
Overseeing premises, estates and facilities management
Managing health & safety, risk and compliance
Supporting recruitment and safer onboarding procedures
Preparing reports for Governors and senior leaders
Maintaining accurate financial and personnel records
Reviewing operational processes and identifying improvements
Supporting the school's wider strategic planning
About You
You will be commercially minded, highly organised and confident dealing with senior stakeholders. Strong knowledge of school finance procedures is important, alongside good IT and Excel skills.
Experience with Arbor, SIMS, Bromcom or other school MIS/finance systems would be advantageous.
