Role Overview

An inspiring secondary school in Lincoln is seeking an enthusiastic, academically rigorous, and engaging Psychology Teacher to join their Social Sciences department ASAP. In this role, you will plan and deliver high-quality Psychology lessons primarily across Key Stage 5 (A Level Psychology), with potential opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 4 Social Sciences or introductory psychology modules. You will inspire students to explore human behaviour, cognitive processes, research methodologies, and psychological theories, equipping them with the analytical tools needed for higher education and beyond. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess stimulating A Level Psychology lessons in line with exam board specifications (e.g., AQA, Edexcel, or OCR).

• Introduce key psychological concepts, psychological research methods, statistical analysis, and ethical implications in psychological studies.

• Track student progress through regular essay practice, formative feedback, and mock examinations to maximize A Level outcomes.

• Differentiate learning resources to support students across all ability levels, providing targeted interventions for university preparation.

• Contribute to departmental enrichment, including psychology clubs, guest speaker events, and university application guidance for psychology and social science degrees.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a closely related social science discipline.

• Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS.

• Proven experience teaching A Level Psychology, with strong subject knowledge of contemporary specifications and examination criteria.

• Excellent academic essay-marking and analytical skills.

• Legal right to work in the UK.
