Role Overview
A progressive secondary school in Manchester is seeking an enthusiastic, academically rigorous, and inspiring Maths Teacher to join their thriving Mathematics department ASAP. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Mathematics), with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 (A Level Mathematics / Further Mathematics) depending on experience. You will play a central role in raising numerical fluency, problem-solving skills, and exam confidence across all attainment levels. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, aligning with national curriculum and exam board specifications.
Use data-driven tracking and diagnostic assessment to monitor pupil progress, implementing targeted interventions to boost GCSE attainment.
Foster a positive, growth-mindset learning environment that encourages mathematical reasoning, confidence, and pupil engagement.
Collaborate with department colleagues to share best practices, develop scheme-of-work resources, and support departmental moderation.
Contribute to extra-curricular numeracy initiatives, UKMT Maths Challenge preparation, and revision masterclasses.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS.
Proven track record of teaching secondary Mathematics, with strong knowledge of current GCSE (and optionally A Level) specifications.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate effectively for diverse learning needs.
Legal right to work in the UK.
