About the Role
We are working with a high-achieving, ambitious school in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to appoint a meticulous and experienced Data and Exams Officer. This is a critical administrative leadership role responsible for the smooth, secure management of all internal and external school examinations, alongside the maintenance of pupil data systems.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations, managing data collection, and providing accurate statistical reports for the Senior Leadership Team and governing body.
Key Responsibilities
Exams Management: Oversee the full administrative lifecycle of public and internal examinations (GCSE/A-Level), including entries, timetabling, seating arrangements, invigilator recruitment, and results days.
JCQ Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all JCQ regulations, awarding body guidelines, and access arrangement protocols.
Data & MIS Management: Maintain and update the school’s Management Information System (e.g., SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom), ensuring data integrity for pupil records, attendance, and assessments.
Reporting & Analysis: Generate comprehensive data reports, tracking sheets, and performance metrics to support student progress monitoring and strategic planning.
Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between the school, exam boards, teaching staff, students, and parents regarding exams and data inquiries.
Ideal Candidate Specification
Experience: Proven experience managing school examinations and data systems (MIS) within a secondary or independent school environment.
Knowledge: Expert working knowledge of JCQ regulations, exam board procedures, and data protection (GDPR) compliance.
Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, high numerical accuracy, advanced IT proficiency (particularly Excel and MIS software), and the ability to work calmly under pressure during peak exam periods.
Vetting: An enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to process a new one).
