An independent primary school in Oxford is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join its team on a four-day-per-week basis. The school offers a stimulating curriculum with strong emphasis on early literacy, numeracy and pupil confidence.

The Role

  • Year 1 Teaching: Lead a Year 1 class for four days each week.

  • Phonics: Deliver structured and engaging phonics sessions.

  • Reading: Develop early reading fluency and comprehension.

  • Writing: Build pupils' vocabulary and confidence in independent writing.

  • Mathematics: Establish secure foundations in number and calculation.

  • Assessment: Track progress and communicate development effectively.

  • Pastoral: Support pupils' transition into Key Stage 1.

The Candidate

  • QTS.

  • Strong KS1 experience.

  • Excellent understanding of phonics.

  • Nurturing and patient approach.

  • Good classroom organisation.

  • Able to work effectively within a part-time teaching arrangement.
