A well-established primary academy in Derby is looking for an experienced Year 5 Teacher to cover a current maternity absence. The school is seeking someone who can quickly integrate into the team and maintain strong standards of teaching and behaviour.

The Role

  • Year 5: Take responsibility for a Year 5 class from the beginning of the appointment.

  • Curriculum: Deliver a broad and balanced KS2 curriculum.

  • Progress: Monitor individual pupil progress and implement targeted intervention.

  • Planning: Work collaboratively with the year-group team.

  • Behaviour: Maintain clear routines and high expectations.

  • Reporting: Contribute to assessment and parent communication.

The Candidate

  • QTS.

  • KS2 teaching experience.

  • Strong planning and assessment skills.

  • Confident behaviour management.

  • Able to establish relationships quickly.

  • Reliable and well organised.
