An inclusive primary school in Newcastle is seeking a committed Year 2 Teacher to join its team immediately. The school places strong emphasis on early reading, pupil wellbeing and creating a positive learning environment.

The Role

  • Year 2 Teaching: Lead a Year 2 class with a clear focus on progress and engagement.

  • Reading: Develop reading fluency, comprehension and confidence.

  • Phonics: Deliver effective phonics teaching and targeted catch-up.

  • Mathematics: Develop secure understanding of number and calculation.

  • SEND Support: Adapt lessons for pupils requiring additional support.

  • Assessment: Use observations and formal assessment to inform planning.

  • Pastoral: Build strong relationships with pupils and families.

The Candidate

  • QTS.

  • KS1 experience.

  • Strong phonics knowledge.

  • Excellent behaviour management.

  • Understanding of SEND provision.

  • Nurturing and enthusiastic teaching style.
