A forward-thinking primary academy in Brighton is looking to appoint an experienced Year 6 Teacher. The school offers a vibrant learning environment and is committed to ensuring pupils leave primary education confident, independent and ready for secondary school.

The Role

  • Year 6: Lead a Year 6 class and oversee its academic and pastoral development.

  • SATs: Prepare pupils effectively while ensuring the curriculum remains broad and engaging.

  • English: Develop advanced reading comprehension and writing skills.

  • Mathematics: Develop reasoning, fluency and problem-solving.

  • Intervention: Plan targeted support for pupils who require additional challenge or intervention.

  • Transition: Support pupils through the move to secondary school.

  • Assessment: Maintain accurate assessment information and contribute to moderation.

The Candidate

  • QTS.

  • Strong Year 6 or Upper KS2 experience.

  • Excellent curriculum knowledge.

  • Strong assessment skills.

  • Confident behaviour management.

  • Able to inspire and motivate older primary pupils.
