A thriving primary school in Sutton is seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join its committed teaching team. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic primary teacher to create engaging learning experiences and help pupils build strong foundations during an important stage of their education.

About the Role

The successful Year 1 Teacher will deliver a broad and engaging curriculum while creating a nurturing, structured and inclusive classroom environment. You will support pupils' academic, social and personal development and work closely with colleagues to ensure every child is given the opportunity to succeed.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 1 curriculum.

• Developing pupils' literacy, numeracy and wider learning skills.

• Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom.

• Assessing and monitoring pupil progress effectively.

• Differentiating learning to meet a range of abilities and needs.

• Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.

• Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.

• Contributing positively to the wider life of the school.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Previous primary teaching experience, ideally within KS1.

• Strong knowledge of the Year 1 curriculum.

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

• A creative, engaging and child-centred approach to teaching.

• Commitment to supporting every pupil to achieve their potential.

• A reliable, enthusiastic and professional attitude.
