You will teach Drama across KS3 and KS4, creating lessons that allow students to explore performance, characterisation, improvisation, script work and theatrical techniques.
At KS3, you will help students build confidence through practical activities while introducing them to different dramatic styles and approaches. At GCSE, you will prepare students for the practical and theoretical elements of the course, including performance, devising, scripted work and written evaluation.
The role will require strong classroom organisation, particularly when managing practical activities and group performances. You will create clear expectations while giving students the freedom to experiment creatively and develop their own ideas.
You will assess practical performances alongside written work, providing constructive feedback that helps students refine their performance techniques and understanding of Drama.

Drama Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Drama, Theatre Studies or Performing Arts Degree
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Drama at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4
GCSE Drama experience desirable
Strong practical performance skills
Confidence managing group and practical activities
Strong classroom management
Excellent communication skills
Good planning and assessment skills
Willingness to contribute to extracurricular productions
Salary
The salary for this Drama Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
