You will teach Science at Key Stage 3 before taking responsibility for Biology at GCSE. Students will explore topics including cell biology, organisation, infection and response, bioenergetics, homeostasis, ecology, inheritance and evolution.

Practical investigation will form an important part of the curriculum. You will encourage students to work scientifically by planning investigations, handling equipment safely, recording results and evaluating evidence.

At GCSE, you will help students develop their ability to apply biological knowledge to unfamiliar scenarios and interpret scientific information. You will also support students with examination technique, extended responses and data-based questions.

Assessment will be used consistently to monitor progress and identify areas where students need further support. You will be expected to adapt your teaching and provide appropriate challenge across the ability range.

• Biology Degree or related Science Degree

• QTS or recognised teaching qualification
