An exciting opportunity has arisen for an empathetic, organized, and proactive Pastoral Manager to join a highly supportive primary school in the heart of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.
Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, SENCo, and Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a central role in nurturing the social, emotional, and mental health needs of pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.

About the Role
As Pastoral Manager, you will lead on pastoral interventions, attendance tracking, and day-to-day pupil welfare to remove barriers to learning and promote positive behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 and small-group nurture interventions (e.g., emotional regulation, social skills, self-esteem, bereavement support).
Manage day-to-day pastoral concerns, responding calmly and effectively to pupil anxiety or behavioral challenges.
Monitor pupil attendance and punctuality, conducting home visits and working with families to improve engagement.
Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), maintaining meticulous CPOMS records and attending multi-agency meetings when required.
Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers to provide guidance and early help support.

Candidate Requirements
Experience: Proven experience in a pastoral, child welfare, HLTA, or learning mentor role within a primary school or early years setting.
Specialist Knowledge: Sound understanding of primary-age child development, positive behaviour management, and safeguarding procedures (KCSIE).
Skills: High emotional intelligence, active listening skills, resilience, and the ability to maintain composure during challenging situations.
Qualifications: Relevant degree, NVQ Level 3/4 in Childcare/Youth Work, or ELSA qualification is highly desirable.
Compliance: Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to process one).
