About the Role
You will support practical science lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level) by preparing apparatus, chemical solutions, and learning materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare laboratory equipment, practical demonstrations, and chemical solutions accurately and safely according to lesson schedules.
Ensure strict adherence to CLEAPSS, COSHH, and school Health & Safety guidelines across all laboratories and prep rooms.
Maintain stock inventories, conduct regular equipment safety checks, and assist with ordering consumable supplies.
Safely store, handle, and clear away chemicals, biological specimens, and hazardous waste post-practical sessions.
Support teaching staff during required practical assessments, open days, and extra-curricular STEM activities.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications: A science-focused qualification (A-Level, HND, NVQ, or Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or a related discipline).
Experience: Prior experience as a Science Technician in a school, college, or laboratory setting is highly advantageous (science graduates with strong practical lab skills are also welcomed).
Knowledge: Familiarity with COSHH regulations, CLEAPSS standards, and general laboratory safety protocols.
