Role Overview
A caring and inclusive primary school in Slough is seeking a passionate, inspiring, and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join their Key Stage 1 team ASAP. In this pivotal role, you will lead a vibrant Year 2 class, creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that prepares pupils for Key Stage 1 statutory assessments (SATS) and their eventual transition to Key Stage 2. You will deliver an engaging, broad-based curriculum that fosters literacy, numeracy, and a lifelong love of learning. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of a diverse Year 2 class.
Prepare pupils effectively for Key Stage 1 assessments and moderation, tracking individual progress across reading, writing, and mathematics.
Create an inclusive classroom culture where high expectations, positive behavior management, and pupil wellbeing are prioritized.
Collaborate closely with the Key Stage 1 team, SENCO, and teaching assistants to provide targeted support for pupils with SEND or EAL needs.
Maintain open, positive communication with parents and carers to support pupil development and home-school engagement.
Key Requirements
Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 1, with a strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and assessment framework.
Strong proficiency in early literacy approaches (e.g., systematic synthetic phonics like Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle).
Excellent classroom management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Legal right to work in the UK.
