Our Client is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Chemistry Teacher to join a successful mixed school in Colchester. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with a passion for Chemistry who wants to work within a department that places a strong emphasis on academic achievement, practical learning and pupil engagement.

The successful Chemistry Teacher will be expected to deliver high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, developing pupils’ understanding of key chemical concepts and encouraging them to apply their knowledge through practical and theoretical work. Depending on experience and subject expertise, there may also be opportunities to contribute to teaching at post-16 level.

The ideal candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and a passion for communicating complex scientific ideas in an accessible and engaging way. You will be expected to establish high expectations while creating a classroom environment where pupils feel confident asking questions, experimenting and developing their scientific thinking.

Experience and Qualifications

• Chemistry Teacher with the ability to teach Chemistry at KS3 and KS4

• Strong Chemistry subject knowledge

• A formal teaching qualification with QTS, such as a PGCE

• Ability to deliver engaging practical and theoretical Chemistry lessons

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Ability to motivate pupils and encourage a genuine interest in Science

• Experience teaching post-16 Chemistry would be advantageous

• Legal ability to work within the UK
