Our Client is looking to appoint an experienced and highly organised SENCO Assistant to join a welcoming school in Maidstone. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of special educational needs who would like to develop their experience within a busy and well-supported SEND department.
The successful SENCO Assistant will work closely with the SENCO and wider pastoral team to support the effective coordination of SEND provision throughout the school. You will play an important role in helping to ensure that pupils with additional needs receive appropriate support, that records and documentation are maintained accurately and that communication between the school, families and external professionals is effective.
The position would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Higher Level Teaching Assistant or school administrator with a strong understanding of SEND who is looking to take the next step in their career.

Duties may include supporting the maintenance of SEND records, assisting with EHCP documentation, arranging meetings, communicating with parents and professionals, monitoring interventions and helping to ensure that agreed support strategies are implemented consistently.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, professional and confident when communicating with a range of stakeholders. You should also have a genuine interest in improving outcomes for children and young people with additional needs.
Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience within a school SEND, pastoral or learning support environment
Understanding of SEND processes and provision
Knowledge of EHCPs, support plans or individual education plans would be advantageous
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
A caring, proactive and solution-focused approach
Relevant SEND, education or teaching qualification would be advantageous
Legal ability to work within the UK
