Wayman Education is working with a Secondary School in Oldham to recruit reliable and responsible Exam Invigilators. The school is looking for individuals who can help ensure examinations are conducted fairly, securely and in accordance with examination regulations.
The successful candidate will support the school's examinations team during internal assessments and formal examination periods, helping provide a calm and professional environment for pupils.
The Role
The Exam Invigilator will supervise pupils during examinations and ensure all examination procedures are followed correctly.
The role will involve helping prepare examination rooms, checking that seating arrangements are correctly organised and ensuring pupils enter the room in an orderly manner. The successful candidate will check examination materials, distribute papers and provide pupils with clear instructions before examinations begin.
During examinations, the Exam Invigilator will maintain a quiet and controlled environment, supervise pupils closely and ensure that examination regulations are followed. They will remain alert throughout each session and report any concerns or irregularities to the Exams Officer.
The role will also involve collecting examination papers at the end of each session, checking that all materials have been accounted for and ensuring papers are returned securely. The successful candidate may also assist with the preparation and organisation of examination rooms before and after sessions.
Exam Invigilators may be required to work during particularly busy periods of the academic year, including mock examinations and formal examination seasons. Flexibility and reliability are therefore important.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be reliable, punctual and confident supervising groups of pupils. Previous experience in a school, education or examination environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
The successful applicant must have excellent attention to detail and be able to follow detailed instructions and examination regulations carefully. They should be confident maintaining a calm and professional environment and addressing pupils appropriately when required.
Good communication skills, discretion and the ability to remain focused for extended periods are essential. The successful candidate must also understand the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding within a school environment.
