Wayman Education is working with a Secondary School in Brighton to recruit an enthusiastic and technically capable IT Technician. The school is looking for someone who can provide reliable technical support to staff and pupils and help maintain the school's IT infrastructure.
The successful candidate will join a supportive team and play an important role in ensuring technology is available and functioning effectively across classrooms, offices and other areas of the school.
The Role
The IT Technician will provide day-to-day technical support to staff and pupils, resolving a wide range of hardware, software and connectivity issues.
The role will involve setting up and maintaining computers, laptops, printers, projectors and other classroom technology. The successful candidate will troubleshoot technical issues, identify faults and escalate more complex problems where appropriate.
The IT Technician will assist with maintaining the school's network, user accounts and software systems. They will support password resets, access issues and the installation and updating of software across school devices.
The role will also involve maintaining accurate records of IT equipment, assisting with stock management and ensuring devices are correctly allocated and maintained. The successful candidate will help prepare equipment for new staff and pupils and support the setup of classrooms and offices when required.
The IT Technician will also provide basic guidance to staff and pupils, helping them use school systems and technology effectively. They will follow the school's IT security, data protection and online safety procedures at all times.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in IT support, technical support or a similar position. Good knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office and common IT hardware is desirable.
Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail and a methodical approach are essential. The successful applicant should be able to explain technical issues clearly to people with different levels of IT knowledge.
The school is looking for someone who is patient, reliable and proactive, with the ability to prioritise technical issues and work effectively under pressure. Experience within a school environment would be advantageous.
