You will deliver Religious Education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, providing students with opportunities to explore different religious traditions, beliefs, philosophical ideas and contemporary ethical questions.
At KS3, you will help students build a broad understanding of religion and develop their ability to consider different viewpoints. Lessons should encourage respectful discussion while giving students the knowledge and vocabulary required to express their own ideas clearly.
At GCSE, you will prepare students for examination requirements, including source analysis, evaluation and extended written responses. You will help pupils apply religious teachings and philosophical perspectives to contemporary ethical issues.
The successful candidate will be confident leading classroom discussions and creating a respectful environment in which students can question ideas and consider perspectives that may differ from their own.

Religious Education Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy or related subject
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching RE at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4
GCSE RE experience
Strong knowledge of religious and ethical issues
Excellent communication skills
Confidence leading classroom discussion and debate
Strong classroom management
Effective planning and assessment skills
Ability to develop students' analytical and evaluative writing
Commitment to student progress
Salary
The salary for this Religious Education Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
