Role Overview

A dynamic secondary school in Nottinghamshire is seeking an enthusiastic, academically rigorous, and inspiring Chemistry Teacher to join their thriving Science department ASAP. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, engaging theoretical and practical Chemistry lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Science / Chemistry), with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 (A Level Chemistry) depending on experience. You will foster a passion for scientific inquiry, practical experimentation, and critical thinking, helping students achieve outstanding academic progress. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess stimulating Chemistry lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and potentially Key Stage 5, aligning with national curriculum and exam board specifications.

• Lead safe laboratory practical work, embedding strict adherence to CLEAPSS guidelines and school safety standards.

• Utilize data-driven tracking to monitor pupil attainment, providing constructive feedback and targeted interventions to help students reach their full potential.

• Collaborate with science colleagues and laboratory technicians to design engaging learning resources and maintain well-equipped laboratory environments.

• Contribute to extra-curricular STEM clubs, science fairs, and academic extension activities.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline.

• Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS.

• Proven experience teaching secondary Chemistry, with strong subject knowledge across GCSE and A Level specifications.

• Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to safe laboratory practice.

• Legal right to work in the UK.
