Our Client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant SENCO to join a highly supportive school in Maidstone. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND professional, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support professional or current Assistant SENCO who is looking to take on additional responsibility and develop their career within special educational needs.
The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO and wider pastoral and teaching teams to ensure that pupils with SEND receive appropriate support and are able to access the curriculum successfully. You will play an important role in identifying barriers to learning, monitoring pupil progress and helping staff implement effective strategies to meet individual needs.
The role will involve working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and carers, as well as liaising with external professionals where appropriate. The successful candidate will need to be highly organised, approachable and confident when dealing with sensitive information.
You will be expected to contribute to the monitoring and review of SEN provision, support the implementation of individual plans and assist with the coordination of appropriate interventions. A strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusion and effective communication will be essential.
This position would be particularly suitable for someone who is passionate about improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs and who is keen to develop their knowledge of SEND provision within a mainstream school environment.

Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience working with pupils with SEND
Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Assistant SENCO
Good understanding of SEND processes and inclusive education
Knowledge of EHCPs, SEN support plans and pupil interventions would be advantageous
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff and external professionals
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
A relevant qualification or experience within education or SEND
Commitment to improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs
Legal ability to work within the UK
