A successful and well-established secondary school in Reading is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer to join its busy pastoral team.

⚠️ Previous School Safeguarding Experience Essential

This is a hands-on role supporting the school's safeguarding systems and working closely with the DSL to ensure concerns are identified, recorded and followed up appropriately.

⭐ Your Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day safeguarding concerns

  • Maintain accurate CPOMS/safeguarding records

  • Support referrals and case management

  • Follow up actions and safeguarding chronologies

  • Work with staff, families and external agencies

  • Support safeguarding meetings and reviews

  • Ensure safeguarding documentation remains accurate and compliant

👤 About You

Previous experience in school safeguarding, child protection or a similar education-based role is essential.

You’ll be calm under pressure, highly organised and confident dealing with sensitive situations.
