The Opportunity
We are looking for an organised, professional and highly capable Headteacher’s PA to join a welcoming and ambitious school near Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a busy environment and is confident supporting senior leadership. You will work closely with the Headteacher and wider leadership team, providing high-quality administrative and organisational support and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school.
The successful candidate will be discreet, approachable and able to manage a varied workload while maintaining excellent attention to detail and confidentiality.
The Role
As Headteacher’s PA, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher, helping to manage priorities, communications, meetings and key school processes.
You will:
Provide efficient and professional administrative support to the Headteacher.
Manage the Headteacher’s diary, appointments, meetings and schedule.
Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes and follow up agreed actions.
Manage incoming correspondence, emails, telephone calls and enquiries.
Draft, format and proofread letters, reports, presentations and other documentation.
Maintain accurate and confidential records and filing systems.
Act as a professional point of contact for staff, parents, governors and external organisations.
Support communication between the Headteacher, senior leaders, staff, pupils and families.
Assist with the organisation of governors' meetings, leadership meetings and school events.
Prepare information, reports and documentation for meetings and senior leadership activities.
Monitor deadlines and ensure actions are followed up promptly.
Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Support the Headteacher with school projects, initiatives and administrative tasks.
Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders where appropriate.
Help ensure the Headteacher’s office and administrative processes operate efficiently.
What Makes You the Right Fit?
We are looking for someone who combines excellent organisational skills with professionalism, discretion and a calm, approachable manner.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience as a PA, Executive Assistant, School Administrator or in a similar senior administrative role.
Experience working within a school, education, public sector or professional environment.
Excellent diary management, organisational and administrative skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Confidence using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
The ability to produce professional correspondence, reports and documents.
Experience arranging meetings, preparing agendas and taking accurate minutes.
The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to communicate with staff, parents, governors and external stakeholders.
The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate needs and resolve issues independently.
A calm, professional and friendly manner, even when working under pressure.
A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
