About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Design & Technology across secondary year groups, delivering well-structured lessons that balance practical work with strong subject knowledge. You will play an important role in helping students develop their creativity, problem-solving abilities and confidence in practical subjects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging DT lessons up to KS5.

• Supporting students with both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject.

• Creating a positive and well-managed classroom environment.

• Assessing and monitoring student progress.

• Preparing students for GCSE and KS5 examinations where appropriate.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues within the DT department.

• Contributing to the wider life and enrichment activities of the school.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Previous experience teaching Design & Technology in a secondary school.

• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for DT.

• Ability to deliver engaging lessons across KS3, GCSE and KS5.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• Commitment to supporting students of varying abilities.

• Reliable, organised and professional approach.
