Wayman Education is working with an Independent Primary School in Harrogate to recruit an experienced and organised School Office Manager. The school is looking for a confident administrator who can oversee the daily operation of the school office and provide effective support to staff, pupils, parents and visitors.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the school office operates efficiently, maintaining accurate records and coordinating a range of administrative responsibilities.
The Role
The School Office Manager will oversee the day-to-day running of the school office and provide administrative support across the wider school.
The role will involve managing incoming telephone calls, emails and enquiries, welcoming visitors and ensuring information is passed to the appropriate members of staff. The successful candidate will maintain accurate pupil and staff records and ensure administrative systems are kept up to date.
The Office Manager will support attendance administration, admissions, pupil records and general school correspondence. They will also assist with the organisation of meetings, school events, appointments and other activities requiring administrative coordination.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and senior staff, preparing documents, maintaining confidential records and assisting with general office procedures. They will also coordinate stationery and office supplies and liaise with external suppliers when required.
The role will require someone who can remain organised during busy periods and manage several priorities throughout the school day. The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain a welcoming and professional front office environment.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in school administration, office management, reception or a similar administrative position. Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential.
The successful applicant should be confident using Microsoft Office and school databases or management information systems. Experience managing administrative processes and dealing directly with parents and external visitors would be advantageous.
The school is looking for someone who is professional, approachable and able to work independently while also supporting colleagues across the school. An understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection is essential.
