Wayman Education is working with a Secondary School in Maidstone to recruit an experienced and organised Exams Officer. The school is looking for someone who can coordinate examinations effectively and ensure all examination processes are managed accurately and in line with relevant regulations.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, teachers, administrative staff and external examination bodies to ensure pupils are properly entered for examinations and that all arrangements are in place throughout the examination cycle.
The Role
The Exams Officer will take responsibility for the administration and coordination of internal and external examinations across the school.
The role will involve registering pupils for examinations, maintaining accurate candidate records and ensuring entries are submitted within the relevant deadlines. The successful candidate will liaise with examination boards, resolve administrative queries and keep up to date with examination requirements and procedures.
The Exams Officer will prepare examination timetables, organise rooms and seating arrangements and coordinate the allocation of invigilators. They will ensure examination materials are securely stored and distributed appropriately before and during examination periods.
The position will also involve preparing examination documentation, communicating arrangements to pupils and staff and ensuring examination sessions are conducted in accordance with regulations. Following examinations, the successful candidate will support the collection and secure return of completed scripts and maintain accurate records.
The role will require excellent organisation, particularly during busy examination periods, as well as the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in examinations, school administration or a similar organisational role. Strong attention to detail and excellent administrative skills are essential.
The successful applicant should be confident using databases, spreadsheets and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with examination management systems would be advantageous.
The school is looking for someone who is calm under pressure, highly organised and able to maintain confidentiality. Good communication skills and the ability to work with staff, pupils and external organisations are also important.
