About the School

A thriving secondary school in Brighton is looking for a Performing Arts Technician to support its drama and performing arts provision.

The school regularly hosts productions, performances, rehearsals and practical lessons, and the successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to ensure technical equipment and performance spaces are ready for use.

The Role

Duties will include:

  • Preparing performance spaces for lessons and productions.

  • Setting up lighting and sound equipment.

  • Supporting rehearsals and live performances.

  • Operating technical equipment when required.

  • Maintaining microphones, speakers, lighting and other equipment.

  • Assisting staff and pupils with technical requirements.

  • Setting up staging and scenery.

  • Checking equipment before performances.

  • Reporting faults and arranging repairs where required.

  • Maintaining organised technical storage areas.

  • Supporting school productions and events.

  • Following appropriate health and safety procedures.

Requirements

Previous experience working as a Performing Arts Technician within a school or college is essential.

Experience with school productions, theatre technology, sound or lighting would be highly beneficial.

An enhanced DBS will be required.
