Our Client is seeking a dedicated and organised SENCO Assistant to join a highly supportive school in Maidstone. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience working within a Special Educational Needs environment and is looking to develop their career further within a school setting. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, pastoral teams, families and external professionals to ensure that pupils with additional needs receive appropriate support and are able to access the curriculum successfully.
The role will involve assisting with the day-to-day coordination of SEND provision, maintaining accurate records, supporting the implementation of individual learning plans and helping to monitor the progress and wellbeing of pupils with additional needs. The successful applicant will need to be highly organised, approachable and confident when communicating with a wide range of professionals.
You will become an important member of the school's inclusion team, helping to ensure that SEND pupils receive appropriate interventions and that staff have the information and resources they need to support individual learners effectively. This could include supporting assessments, attending meetings, communicating with parents and carers, liaising with external agencies and helping to ensure that relevant documentation remains accurate and up to date.

Experience and Qualifications:
Previous experience working within a school or education setting
Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional learning needs
Understanding of SEN provision and inclusive educational practice
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with teachers, parents, carers and external professionals
A patient, empathetic and child-centred approach
A relevant qualification or experience within education, SEN or pastoral support would be advantageous
Legal ability to work within the UK
