This role would suit an Economics Teacher who enjoys encouraging students to think critically about the world around them. You will teach students how economic principles influence individuals, businesses and governments, while helping them develop the analytical and evaluative skills required for examination success.
You will cover areas such as supply and demand, market structures, economic growth, inflation, unemployment, fiscal policy and international trade. Students will be encouraged to interpret economic data, apply theories to real-world situations and consider different perspectives when evaluating economic decisions.
At KS5, you will support students with the more advanced demands of A-Level Economics, including extended written responses, quantitative skills and examination technique. Where required, you may also contribute to Business teaching at KS4.
The school is looking for someone who can make complex economic concepts accessible and relevant. You will use current examples and engaging discussion to help students understand how economic decisions affect society.

Economics Teacher - Experience and Qualifications
Economics Degree or related subject
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Economics at secondary level
Strong A-Level Economics knowledge
Ability to teach KS5
Business Studies teaching experience desirable
Excellent analytical and evaluative skills
Strong classroom management
Ability to interpret and explain economic data
Effective planning and assessment skills
Commitment to high academic standards
Salary
The salary for this Economics Teacher position will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
