Wayman Education is working with a Secondary School in Cheltenham to recruit a School Data Officer. The school is looking for a highly organised and detail-focused individual who can manage pupil information and support the accurate use of school data systems.
The successful candidate will work closely with the administration team, teaching staff and senior leadership to ensure important pupil and school information is maintained accurately and available when required.
The Role
The School Data Officer will be responsible for maintaining and updating pupil information across the school's management information systems.
The role will involve entering and checking pupil data, maintaining accurate records and ensuring changes are processed promptly. The successful candidate will assist with pupil admissions, transfers and leavers, ensuring relevant information is recorded correctly.
The Data Officer will support the production of reports relating to attendance, pupil information, assessment and other areas of school data. They will work with staff to resolve discrepancies and ensure information is accurate before reports are shared.
The role will also involve preparing data for meetings, supporting census and statutory returns and assisting with administrative deadlines throughout the academic year. The successful candidate will maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive pupil information and follow the school's data protection procedures.
Strong attention to detail will be essential, as the position requires accurate data entry and regular checking of information.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in data administration, school administration or a similar role. Excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail are essential.
The successful applicant should be confident using spreadsheets, databases and Microsoft Office applications. Previous experience with a school management information system would be beneficial.
The school is looking for someone who can work methodically, meet deadlines and manage confidential information appropriately. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues are also important.
