Our client is looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join a successful school in Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with a genuine passion for Sociology who wants to help students understand the social world while developing their ability to analyse evidence, evaluate different perspectives and construct well-supported arguments.

The successful applicant will be expected to deliver engaging Sociology lessons and create a classroom environment where students feel confident questioning ideas, contributing to discussions and developing their academic understanding. You will have responsibility for planning, teaching and assessing lessons while supporting students to make strong progress.

The school is seeking a teacher who can combine excellent subject knowledge with a creative and engaging teaching style. You will be expected to maintain high expectations while adapting lessons to meet the needs of students with different levels of ability and experience.

This position would suit an experienced Sociology Teacher, although applications from suitably qualified ECTs will also be welcomed.

Experience and Qualifications

• Qualified Sociology Teacher with strong subject knowledge

• Ability to teach Sociology at the relevant key stages

• Formal teaching qualification with QTS, such as a PGCE

• Strong understanding of Sociology curriculum and assessment requirements

• Ability to deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons

• Excellent communication and classroom management skills

• Ability to differentiate effectively for students of varying abilities

• Commitment to supporting student progress and achievement

• Overseas teachers with a recognised formal teaching qualification are encouraged to apply
