The Role

As Attendance Officer, you will monitor and promote pupil attendance, follow up on unexplained absences and work closely with staff and families to identify and address barriers to regular attendance. You will play an important role in supporting the school's pastoral provision and ensuring pupils are able to access their education consistently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring daily attendance, registers and absence records.

• Contacting parents and carers to investigate unexplained absences.

• Identifying patterns of absence and raising concerns with relevant staff.

• Supporting attendance meetings and targeted improvement plans.

• Producing reports and maintaining accurate school records.

• Liaising with pastoral teams and external agencies where appropriate.

• Handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
