Wayman Education is looking for a committed and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Derby. The successful candidate will be passionate about encouraging students to develop their physical skills, confidence and teamwork.

Location: Derby
Position: PE Teacher
Start Date: January 2027
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience

The School

This inclusive Derby secondary school places a strong emphasis on student wellbeing, participation and achievement. The PE department provides a varied programme designed to encourage students of all abilities to participate and develop their skills.

The Role

  • Teach PE across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver engaging practical and theory lessons.

  • Encourage participation and positive attitudes towards physical activity.

  • Support GCSE PE students where required.

  • Organise and contribute to extracurricular activities.

  • Monitor student progress and provide appropriate feedback.

The Ideal Candidate

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Strong PE subject knowledge.

  • Experience teaching secondary students.

  • Confident classroom and behaviour management.

  • Enthusiastic and motivating approach.

  • Commitment to inclusive education.
