⚠️ Previous School Safeguarding Experience Essential
A high-performing primary school in Hillingdon is looking for a dedicated Designated Safeguarding Lead to take ownership of its safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Previous school-based safeguarding experience is essential, preferably with experience as a DSL or DDSL.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher, pastoral team and external agencies to ensure concerns are dealt with promptly and appropriately.
The Role
Managing safeguarding concerns and referrals
Maintaining child protection files and records
Supporting vulnerable children and families
Liaising with social care and external agencies
Coordinating safeguarding meetings
Advising staff on safeguarding matters
Delivering safeguarding training and updates
Monitoring safeguarding policies and procedures
Supporting safer recruitment processes
Preparing safeguarding reports and audits
About You
You'll need excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
A strong understanding of KCSIE, early help, child protection and safer recruitment is essential.
