About the School

An outstanding and well-organised secondary school in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced Cover Administrator to join its busy administration team.

The successful candidate will play an important role in coordinating daily cover arrangements and ensuring staffing changes are communicated efficiently across the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinating daily staff cover arrangements.

• Recording staff absences and availability.

• Allocating appropriate cover for lessons.

• Updating the school’s cover management system.

• Producing and distributing daily cover information.

• Communicating changes to staff throughout the school day.

• Liaising with senior leaders regarding cover requirements.

• Maintaining accurate records of staff absence.

• Supporting the administration of planned absences.

• Responding quickly to last-minute staffing changes.

• Preparing relevant paperwork and schedules.

• Providing general administrative support to the wider school office.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a school administration or cover role is essential.

• Experience coordinating staff cover is highly beneficial.

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

• Ability to remain calm when dealing with last-minute changes.

• Strong IT and administrative skills.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work accurately under pressure.

• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
