The school is seeking a teacher who can develop students' musical ability, encourage creativity and deliver a curriculum that combines practical performance with an understanding of musical styles and theory.

Teaching Music across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE Music
Location: Croydon
Salary: MPS1–UPS3
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Start Date: ASAP
You will deliver practical and theoretical Music lessons, helping students build their confidence in performing, composing, listening and appraising.
At KS3, you will introduce pupils to different musical traditions, instruments, performance techniques and elements of music. At KS4, you will prepare students for GCSE Music, supporting their development in performance, composition and the analysis of musical works.
Lessons should offer opportunities for students to experiment with musical ideas, work collaboratively and develop their own creative approaches. You will assess students' progress, provide constructive feedback and help them refine both their practical skills and their understanding of musical terminology.
The role may also involve supporting concerts, performances and extracurricular music activities, giving students opportunities to share their work and participate in the wider school community.

Music Teacher – Experience and Qualifications
Degree in Music or a related subject
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Music at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4
GCSE Music experience desirable
Strong practical and theoretical musical knowledge
Confidence teaching performance and composition
Ability to assess students' practical work
Effective classroom management
Strong organisational and communication skills
Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities
Salary
The salary will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
