About the School
A fantastic and welcoming primary school in Maidstone is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated support team.
The successful candidate will work alongside classroom staff to support pupils with their learning, development and day-to-day needs. The school is looking for someone patient, reliable and experienced within a primary school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting pupils during classroom activities.
Working with individual pupils and small groups.
Reinforcing learning activities set by teaching staff.
Helping pupils remain focused and engaged.
Supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
Preparing classroom resources and materials.
Assisting with reading, writing and numeracy activities.
Supporting positive behaviour strategies.
Encouraging pupil independence and confidence.
Supervising pupils during break and lunch periods.
Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Communicating relevant pupil information to teaching staff.
Requirements
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a school is essential.
Previous primary school experience.
Strong understanding of classroom support.
Patient, calm and encouraging approach.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
